Steps to take following a Road Traffic Accident

Try to stay calm. Seek medical assistance if required. Do not move anything or move anyone who is complaining of injury

Never admit blame or liability for an accident or offer to pay for any damage. Please advise us if any other person admits blame

Make a note of the time and date

Call the Gardai/Police. Take details of any attending Gardai/Police and the Station they are attached to. Even if the incident is minor, we may require a report at a later stage to verify information

Immediately act to protect your vehicle and its accessories

Check your surroundings, is there any CCTV in the area that might have recorded the incident?

Take details of any witnesses to the incident

If it is safe to do so, take photos of the position of the vehicles and the damage caused

Take full details of any other vehicles involved including make, model, colour, registration number and insurance details

Take note of the number of occupants in each vehicle
